The symptoms of a concussion can be subtle and may not occur right away. Symptoms can last for days, weeks or even longer. Long-term concussion symptoms, often termed post-concussion syndrome (PCS), can last for weeks, months, or over a year, with symptoms persisting beyond the typical 10–14 day recovery period.
Long-term physical symptoms include persistent headaches (often migraine-like or tension-type), dizziness/vertigo, fatigue, nausea, light/noise sensitivity, and sometimes blurred vision or reduced smell/taste.
Concussed ondividuals may experience long-term difficulty concentrating, poor memory, reduced attention span, "foggy" thinking, and trouble learning new information.
